Frequently asked Questions

I hope you find the answer to your question here! If not, please email me at sarah@sarahelliot.co.uk or message me under the CONTACT menu at the top of the page.

What medium are your original paintings?
I work mostly in water-based media: watercolour paint, gouache, acrylic and pencil. Due to the delicate nature of watercolours I recommend hanging away from direct sunlight.

Are your paintings framed?
Most of my paintings are A4 (29.7cm x 21cm) or A5 (21cm x 14.8cm) and are unframed. Many people prefer to choose their own frame and it means the artwork can be shipped without costing you more.

How can I purchase your paintings?
You can buy my paintings through my shop via Paypal. You will need a Paypal account which accepts credit cards or debit cards.

How will my painting be wrapped?
Each painting will be carefully wrapped in cellophane between two grey boards (to protect the corners) in a sturdy cardboard envelope. For further details about delivery please see the Shipping details.

Do you make prints of your paintings?
If the original painting has sold I sometimes make prints of it to order. Occasionally I make prints of original paintings I do not want to part with.

What is a print?
A print is a high quality reproduction of an original artwork. The print is so fine you can’t see the printed dots with the naked eye. All prints are signed by me.

How are the prints made?
A high-resolution photograph of the original work is taken and carefully colour-adjusted to ensure the optimum colour match. The giclee prints are made at a specialist printer using archival quality inks on a 100% cotton rag acid-free paper.

Can I order a print at a different size?
My prints are A3, A4 or A5

Will my print be framed?
I usually sell my artwork unframed which helps reduce the shipping cost. For further details about delivery please see the Shipping details.
