Highgate Art Fair 2025

  • Flyer for the show

It was a great thrill to be part of Highgate Art Fair 2025. There were 50 artists showing their work in Highgate Primary School which was a great venue. Art fairs can sometimes seem a bit overwhelming, but not this one! The school community gave the show such warmth. I met lots of lovely artists and local people, not to mention the fantastic team who organised it.

  • Getting ready

A lot of preparation goes into an art fair. It can take months to finish the work, frame it, label it, price it, catalogue it and finally hang it. With a small, contained space you have at an art fair you have to think about grouping the work and presenting it so that it hangs together. These are grouped on my sofa by colour.

  • Nearly done

I did a trial hang at home to make sure everything would fit into the 12 square metres I had.

  • Bear in Moonlight

I couldn’t resist painting a few more animals for the art fair. They make a little series of paintings which seem to go together nicely. This little bear went to a good home.

  • Autumnal Horse

This little horse is inspired by my love of horses as a child. I associate horses with freedom and a strong spirit.

  • Leaping Hare

This hare symbolizes freedom and joy.

  • Setting up for the Fair

There was a limited time to hang all the work

  • Stand is complete

It was a relief to get the stand finished in time for the Private View.

  • Private View party

It was great to meet all the visitors at the PV. What a lovely evening it was.

  • Time to meet friends

My lovely friend, Kate Stilitz, was also an exhibitor.

  • Kate Stilitz's beautiful work

It was so great to be surrounded by so many interesting and varied artists.

  • Julia Clarke's lovely ceramics

Another friend of mine, Julia Clarke, a wonderful ceramicist, was also exhibiting. Every artist has their own unique and individual style.

These works sold amongst others

  • Dahlias light up the Room

An acrylic painting with many layers on wooden panel which has sold.

  • Bear in Moonlight

A favourite painting has gone to a new home.

  • Lemons for Tea Giclée Print

I sold this print which comes in a limited edition of 100. Available in my shop.

  • Little Bird

I have been enjoying making some ceramics. This little bird sold at the fair. You will find more in my shop.

  • A Great Experience

Meeting other artists and all the staff at the school and welcoming so many visitors was such fun. I would do it again in a heartbeat! The children had their own exhibition alongside ours which was full of brilliant work (seen above).

  • It's a wrap - until next time!

Showing your work is such an important part of the job of an artist. Sharing your work with others is a privilege and a joy.
